Dual-Credit
Did you know that you can earn college credits while you are in high school? Qualified high school students can earn college credits to fulfill college degree requirements. These same credits can be used toward a degree at Kentucky State University or another public Kentucky institution of your choice. Some students graduate from high school also earning an Associates Degree from Kentucky State University.
It is never too early to start thinking about college. Kentucky State University is here to help you excel! Remember, if you are considering attending a private university and/or college outside the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you may wish to verify in advance that our courses will be accepted toward your degree.
About Dual Credit
Kentucky State University's Dual Credit program offers college-level courses for high school students in a cooperative arrangement with local school districts. Dual Credit course offerings provide a route for high school students to earn college credit while simultaneously meeting their high school graduation requirements. Getting a head-start on your college education and joining the KSU Dual Credit program can help you:
- Graduate from college earlier
- Spend less money on college
- Prepare in advance for university and career settings
Dual Credit programs also benefit public school systems, some of which have limited resources to offer advanced courses. Our program emphasizes efficiency by combining high school and college-level foundation courses that have similar content. For additional information contact the Dual Credit department.
